According to a pre-announced plan, the introductory ceremony of Iwama Aikido took place on May 5, 2016 at 10:30 AM which was coincident with Eid al-Mab’ath.
The ceremony was held at the "Specialized Academy of Iwama Aikido", part of Iranian center of culture and sports, with a number of trainers, trainees and special guests.
Prior to official opening of the congress, a review of the international activities of instructor Mohammad Arabsorkhi, the director of the International Organization of Iwama Aikido in Iran, was presented by filming group to the attendees. After introducing of Mr. Arabsorkhi, reciting of the Holy Quran and broadcasting of the national anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the ceremony officially began.
At the beginning, the public relations officer initially approached and welcomed audience, then the technical committee administrator implemented several basic techniques for trainees and all of them performed those techniques briefly.
Subsequently, high-level trainees used the specialized training tools and new traditional equipments designed by the institute for better training. Those movements included hand-knocking on "Machiavara" (tufted boards) for hand strengthening and empowering, correct knocking and correct cutting with "Buken" (wooden sword) on "Machiavara" (rubber) in order to enhance energy as well as working with "Tanren-bo" (large and heavy wooden swords) to increase physical strength, maintain balance and strengthen muscles of the hands and shoulders, and so on.
Afterwards, some trainees demonstrated a number of double-ended Iwama Aikido techniques. Then, some explanations were made regarding the career background of Mr. Arabsorkhi and his top and influential trainees, as well as the various important styles that those trainees created in Aikido. Moreover, the subject of Iwama Aikido traditional features was discussed in a comparative study. As a core concept, the essential role of the instructor, Morihiro Saito with his distinguished and unrivaled traditional teaching style in comparison with other instructors was greatly elaborated in order to put emphasis on uniqueness of Iwama Shinshine Aikido and Morihiro Saito Shihan. It should be noted that this explanation was prepared by the head of the Institute's research committee and read out by director of the organizing, evaluation and productivity committee.
Subsequently, instructor Arabsorkhi discussed the activities and work trips that he had completed over several years for obtaining the Iwama Aikido certificate in Iran. Additionally, some related techniques were implemented along with the explanation of the points and necessities about each of them in traditional Iwama Aikido.
After familiarizing the audience with the traditional Iwama Aikido style by the instructor Arabsorkhi, a person in charge of computer department of the Institute read an email from Shihan Alessandro Tittarelli, 8. Dan Iwama Aikido who has the highest rank among the instructors of the traditional Aikido in Europe, Americas and Africa, as well as the supportive member of these continents after the chairman of the organization, Hitohiro Saito Shihan. According to this email, Shihan Alessandro Tittarelli addressed the importance of ceremony and described Mr. Arabsorkhi's international activities and his reputation as the sole authorized representative and accredited registered trainer in Iran and active member in the "Iwama Shinshin Aiki Shurenkai organization".
Due to the concurrence of the ceremony with Eid al-Mab'ath, Dr. Hadi Samavati gave a eulogy in the honor and dignity of Prophet Muhammad at the end of the ceremony, creating a special sense of spirituality for the event.
At the end, High appreciation and gratitude were expressed to attendees specially to the distinguished members including Hojatoleslam and Al-Moslemin Hajj Sheikh Mehdi Jafari Doloabi- the prominent instructor of the seminary, Mr. Suleiman Mahdizadeh-member of the Supreme Council of the Federation of Martial Arts and Head of the Iaido and Kendo styles, Goju Rye Karate Do-Okinawan and Shodokan Aikido in Iran, Mr. Nasrallah Kakavand-member of the Supreme Technical Council of the Federation of Martial Arts, head of Kobudo, Shitorio Karate Style, Karate and Jiu Jitsu while his honorable presence enhanced the importance level of the meeting.
During the final part of his speech, Mr. Arabsarkhahi also appreciated his friends and people such as engineer Amir Mohammad Ashtiani, instructor Afshin Shirvani, instructor Hossein Mahmoudi and instructor Mohammad Ferasat whom supprted and helped him out from the beginning of his activities at the Aikido school. The closing ceremony ended at 14:00 PM after delivering Certificate of Appreciation, taking group photos, praying and having lunch.
